JCRC-LI is the central coordinating body and resource organization for the Long Island Jewish community. In this role we:
Coordinate regional programs such as county-wide Holocaust Remembrance Day commemorations, the Long Island Celebrate Israel Concert, and the Long Island’s participation in the Celebrate Israel Parade in New York City.
Organize the community to respond in times of crisis. Depending on the need, this includes arranging press conferences, rallies, meetings with elected officials and community leaders, and coordinated local events across Long Island.
Resource Assistance
JCRC-LI also provides resources to assist Jewish institutions on a variety of issues, including:
Community Security Initiative (CSI) In the wake of a rising tempo of antisemitism in the United States as well as a significant increase in attacks and threats directed at Jewish institutions and individuals, the Community Security Initiative (CSI) was created in 2020. This is a joint initiative with UJA-Federation of NY and JCRC-NY to enhance security of the approximately 2,000 Jewish institutions in the New York area. Long Island's Regional CSI Director, Liron Filiby, is available for consulting on assessments and upgrades and to provide help accessing government funds, coordinate and facilitate training, liaise with law-enforcement, and more.
